MAKE ME UNDERSTAND THE VISION - I WANT TO RUN.
There was a slogan of a bank some time ago. The producer of the advert knows his onions. With that experience, he created a song movie with the payment platform the bank is rolling out. The bank wants its customers to divert to it. The slogan got driven into us so much that it became a household name. Anytime you think of making an expense payment, the app gets used.
The understanding was the focus of the advert and was to make us know how simple, easy, and fast the use of the app could be. And it gets found to be so. It drives traffic and makes everybody runs into it.
Many organizations see training as a waste of time and would leave the staff to learn on the job. But in the real sense, a lot of loss gets incurred. Many employees become incompetent because of no guidance for the job in the case of production, materials get wasted, and cost increases.
Understanding fuels the increase and propels working with desire and purpose. The foundation becomes good soil to continue planting. It is a waste of effort and time for a teacher not to care if the students get enlightened.
Orientation acquaints the new intakes with what the courses are about. It helps to understand what the university's mission is. It also gives you an understanding of what gets expected of you.
When you are understanding, you take your role with confidence. You will show leadership with grace. And you will accept failure with the mindset that you have learned a new way to do it better. Let understanding be at the forefront of your teaching. Training personnel about their roles and learning will move faster than you imagine.
