Being GENERATIONAL BLESSED means being in covenant with God. OR only enjoy the TEMPORAL blessings. CHOOSE.



Covenant is far more than only enjoying material blessings. Though anyone God has a covenant with will always get blessed. But there is something more, more crucial. There is continuity in the relationship with God for many generations.

For you are a people holy to the LORD your God, and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples on the face of the earth. Deuteronomy 14:2

He will always want continuity in the relationship with generations after to enjoy the covenant with him. He does not forsake them and cares so much about everything they do. They are at the center of his heart. They mean so much to God.

He followed their generation to keep the word he had promised. God ensure their seed is in alignment with him. That's why it matters to him who they married.

It gets stated in the bible to Abraham that the covenant gets to be with his son Isaac even when Ishmael came first. Abraham insists on not taking a wife for Isaac among the daughters of Canaanites. He insisted that the servant go and get the wife among his people and from his country.

Ishmael got a wife from the Egyptians and did not bother God because he had no covenant with him. He promised to bless him and fulfill it, but what became of his lineage did not matter much. He owns them nothing.

Esau chose a wife from the Canaanite women who later frustrated Rebecca's life. She felt it a great disaster for Jacob to pick one from them. Because the covenant lies with the son Jacob, it was so important for continuity in his lineage. It matters so much to God that he made Jacob get ready to labor for 14 years been the bride price. To get the covenant woman that gives birth to a covenant son Joseph.

The covenant children become a nation that other nations bow down to. They are indestructible and matter to God till the end. Their generation will keep producing seeds that pant after God. He said even when their seed sin against him. He will forgive them.
