Earthquake became THE EQUALIZER.

Sometimes in the year, there was an earthquake tremor in Marrakech. We were at a conference some months ago where so many tourists came to have a feel of Marrakech. Marrakech has become another built structure in the similitude of Dubai. It is the attraction.

On this fateful day, narrated by our Nigerian food vendor. She is Mama African Kitchen. Her shop is part of those that are on the outskirts. She said earth tremors began nearby within a moment. All she saw was that people started running down the road.

The building started to shake, and the ground was trembling. The tall building begins to swerve to the right and left. Fear grips the heart of men. Everybody started going helter-skelter. It was a fearful experience.

Some jumped down from the story building. In the process, some hurt themselves even to the point of being killed. Then came an announcement that no one should go back home to sleep. since the tremor was still imminent.

Then, the only secure place is the open field. It is the place where everyone comes with their blanket to sleep. The rich people stayed by the roadside in their cars. Some joined in the open-field bedroom.

Everybody becomes their brother's keeper.

The rich will not come near the poor under normal circumstances, now choosing to have themselves sharing the open field. You might even ask your open-ground neighbor to help watch your belongings.

Why do we always wait for unpleasant circumstances before we become nice to our neighbor? Your driver, maid, or the shoemaker. All are produced in the same laboratory, given the same features, and breathe the same air.

Being a nice person and good buddy should be a way of life. It should not be a thing in a season.
