DEVOTED TO SOMETHING... good or bad
According to the English dictionary. Devotion means giving over to the display, study, or discussion. It could also mean devoted to something, giving all or most of one's time or resources to ( a person or activity). It also means devotion is making use of a certain amount of space or time to cover.
This word jumped out at me while I was studying the book of Deuteronomy. God gave Moses the Law and instructions. On the Land that get given to them by Him. And which Land they should not touch.
God said to Moses Deut 1; 5- 8. You have stayed too long on this mountain. Go and own the Land I have given you. Go and own the promises I make to your descendants. The promises I made to you through your fathers. Your nation. Your church. And your family.
When Moses went about dispossessing the people on their Lands. In the verse in Deuteronomy 3: 6, it says they get devoted to destroying all the occupants. and will take possession of what has been given to them.
Hey, bro and sis, what are you devoted to? Ask yourself where you put your time, effort, talk, money, and resources. Being devoted is not NEW, and it's not relevant if it is on the wrong object.
Some could even get devoted to making sure some people will not rise in their office space. business space, or neighborhood, only because of envy and jealousy.
My friend, you will be wasting away if your devotion does not delight the maker. If you wake every day to see his beloved go down. You will only be boxing and wasting energy like one who is beating the air.
Or are you the one exacting strength? Spending so much. even climbing mountains and crossing the sea. In achieving what your maker has not written about you? Ohhh, darling, it's going to all go to waste.
Get devoted to dispossessing those in the space God has given you and your family. Fight them in prayer, in praises, and in taking the necessary steps to get them out of your space. This kind of fight is the one the host of heaven is backing you up to win.
Choose your fight, and never engage yourself in a fruitless mission. Be wise.
