LIMITLESS MONDAY
HEDGE
What or who hedges you?
Is it your parents, wealth, connected friends, or the family and the lineage you are from?
Everybody needs support from the community, friends, tribe. Some take so much confidence and pride in the circle they belong to that it gives them a hedge. Believe no one can touch.
Some even pride themselves on the names that open doors. The table they sit on. Do not be confused. ALL these trophies are good, indeed very good. Influence makes you arrive at purpose on time and with ease.
But my concern is when you regard them as the source of your existence, when your trust and confidence shift from your maker to people and things. Your life seems to have meaning without them.
Here is a conversation between our maker and the enemy.
Job 1:8-10
And the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?” Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason? Have you not put a hedge around him, his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the earth.
Can you now understand the danger you are in if all that hedges you in is your accomplishments and connections? Your career and position.
Darling, have you ever helped the poor?
Psalm 41: 1-3
Blessed is the one who considers the poor! In the day of trouble the LORD delivers him; the LORD hedges him and keeps him alive; he is called blessed in the land; you do not give him up to the will of his enemies. The LORD sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health.
Buddy, be wise; know what and who hedges you, so the enemy cannot get in. Prepare the ground for your generation to come.
Hedge around with intercession; do not be deceived. What a man sows, that he will reap.
